The Joint Department of Plastic Surgery Sant Pau - Hospital del Mar, with the support of the Foundation Hospital de la Santa Creu and Sant Pau, organises the 4th edition of the Workshop "Between us" in face-to-face and online sessions at the Sant Pau Art Nouveau Site on March 7. The aim of this workshop, consisting of two talks for patients and health professionals, is to update the knowledge about the treatment of lymphedema and to introduce a new surgical technique that prevents 80% of lymphedema cases at the same time of lymph node removal. 

The  first session is aimed primarily at patients, physiotherapists, rehabilitative physicians, specialist nurses, and all professionals engaged in the treatment of lymphedema. It aims to clarify the doubts and expectations of the treatment of this disease and guide professionals in the best techniques to confront it.

The second session, in which the international leaders of lymphedema surgery will take part, they will focus on a new prophylactic approach to address it which consists of repairing the lymphatic system, damaged by lymph node removal, at the same time of surgery, thus preventing the appearance of lymphedema. This will be aimed primarily at lymphedema treatment professionals.

Both sessions will have limited capacity to keep security measures against the Covid 19, and it will be necessary  to register beforehand (link).
