Empowerment in pregnancy

At Sant Pau we have a holistic approach to pregnancy. We know that it is a unique time, both physically and emotionally, and that is why we want to provide you with comprehensive support, focused on empowering you and enabling you to experience it with all the knowledge and resources you need to make the best decisions. Below you will find detailed information about tests, analyses, symptoms and the month-by-month evolution, among other information.

You will also be able to see the tests that will be carried out every trimester, and access detailed information about how your pregnancy will progress month by month.

First trimester

Up to the 12th week of pregnancy

The first pregnancy check-up appointment will be held between weeks 8 and 10 approximately. It is a very important appointment, as we will assess if the pregnancy is progressing well, and we will give you a series of very useful tips and recommendations. The risk status of the pregnancy will also be classified: if it is a low-risk pregnancy it will be monitored in the outpatient clinic with monthly appointments with the midwife; and if it is a high-risk pregnancy check-up appointments will be held in the hospital, and the frequency of appointments will be determined by the specialist doctor in each case.

During this first appointment, the first blood tests and ultrasound will be requested.
