Radiation Oncology
The objective of the Radiotherapeutic Oncology Service is treating cancer and certain non-neoplastic diseases with ionizing radiation (radiotherapy), either on an exclusive basis or associated to surgery, chemotherapy or hormone therapy. This specialization is integrated in the multidisciplinary curative treatment of cancer. Radiotherapy is also a highly effective tool in the symptomatic and palliative treatment of oncological diseases in the advanced phases.
